RALEIGH, N.C. . . . North State Bank promoted Sean Nock to vice president and community mortgage manager, announced Heather Sirgany, senior vice president and chief mortgage sales officer. In this role, Nock will lead the bank’s community mortgage lending efforts, specifically reaching out to traditionally underserved, underbanked communities, including first-generation homebuyers and those seeking down payment assistance and affordable housing programs.
“Seven years ago, Sean helped create North State’s community development program,” shared Sirgany. “Since then, he has grown the department, hosted hundreds of homebuyer workshops, served on dozens of committees, and much more. He’s helped change lives by educating borrowers about the lending process and homebuyer assistance opportunities.”
A veteran mortgage lender, Nock joined the Bank in 2013. Prior to that, he served as a mortgage loan officer at SunTrust Mortgage (now Truist). An alumnus of Liberty University, he serves on the board of directors for the NC REALTORS® Housing Foundation, which provides housing opportunities through education and community-based initiatives. Nock is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers and the National Association of Minority Bankers of America. In 2022, he was named one of NC Housing’s Top 10 Producers and is a top producer for the City of Raleigh Homebuyer Assistance Program. He is a member of the Wake Forest/Rolesville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi.
“I am energized to lead North State’s effort to expand our reach into underserved communities and impact even more lives,” shared Nock. “We are fortunate to live in an area with practical down payment assistance programs and other affordable housing resources. Combining these with the right mortgage loan can help people go from renting to owning.”
Founded in 2000, North State Bank is an independent, full-service community bank serving Wake and New Hanover counties through seven offices and serving the community management association industry through its CommunityPLUS division. North State Bank has held a “Preferred Lender” designation from the U.S. Small Business Administration since 2017.
